The HC560 uses CMR (Conventional Magnetic Recording), making it well suited for RAID arrays, servers, NAS systems, backup repositories, surveillance storage, media libraries, and other capacity-intensive applications. Its enterprise-oriented design provides predictable performance and is optimized for high-density storage deployments.
Western Digital's advanced storage technologies—including OptiNAND, EAMR, Triple-Stage Actuator (TSA), and HelioSeal—enable the HC560 to achieve its 20TB capacity while maintaining the performance and reliability expected from the Ultrastar enterprise platform.
With sequential transfer rates of up to approximately 291 MB/s, the HC560 provides strong throughput for large-file transfers, backup operations, media storage, and other sequential workloads.
The 0F38785 is the SATA Base SE version of the Ultrastar DC HC560. It is not the self-encrypting-drive (SED) version; customers requiring hardware-based self-encryption should select the appropriate SED model.
